Young Fine Gael has four Regional Councils divided along European constituency boundaries. These meet at least four times a year, and discuss a variety of different items, from branch organisation, policy, and campaigns. They are also a focus for inter-branch socials, football tournaments, tag rugby challenges and inter-party & inter-varsity public speaking and debating competitions.
Operated by committees elected from regional delegates, the regional councils organise canvassing weekends, National Executive hustings, campaign leaflet drops, and notable weekends away such as the Munster Octoberfest, and Connaught/Ulster Agri-forum. Recent campaigns such as the No To Youth Emigration have been spearheaded by the Dublin Regional Council, while branch support is also available from all regional officer boards.
The Regional Council is also a forum for discussing issues with politicians, as well as with members of the National Executive. Each regional council is complemented with a Regional Organiser, who is a member of the National Executive, and is elected at the National Conference every 18 months.
